Helga grows up in a small mountain neighborhood where all the kids play together after school - except Edward, the mysterious boy who never joins them and only watches from a distance. Everyone thinks he and his family are "trouble," but Helga mostly just finds him strange and unsettling. Lily is obsessed with Edward, constantly trying to talk to him, even when he ignores her. Meanwhile, Edward's mother tries to gently integrate him into the community, hoping he'll make friends. Over time, Helga and Edward become quietly aware of each other - Helga through discomfort, Edward through intense fascination. When Helga turns 15, her family suddenly moves to Russia for several years. She is devastated to leave her friends, her life, and the familiar rhythm of home. Edward watches her leave, unable to speak. In Russia, Helga adapts slowly - new school, new friends, new language. She misses her old life deeply. She also begins to have confusing desires connected to Edward, which she tries to deny. Meanwhile, Edward withdraws even more after she leaves. His obsession grows. He enters her room, takes her diary, sleeps on her bed, and becomes fixated on the idea of her returning. He also becomes entangled with Lily - emotionally, then physically - even though he never wants a real relationship with her. Years pass. Helga grows older and more mature. Edward grows more obsessive and emotionally unstable. Lily grows more hurt and desperate for his affection. Finally, Helga's family prepares to return home - and both Edward and Lily are emotionally unraveling for different reasons.

Dipper and Mabel Pines go to live in the large town of Gravity Falls with their great uncles. Both are excited, but Dipper is a little more than nervous. Exploring new places without the gift known as sight is rather ominous... Bill Cipher is bored with school. He aces the advanced classes easily and his classmates are rather dull and boring. The new kids might prove to be fun though! Especially that one in a hat... In this AU, Dipper is blind, Bill is human, Gravity Falls is still weird, and now they have to go to school too! (BillDip, Bill x Dipper, possibly platonic)
