As the bombs rained down on District 2 and the Peacekeepers rushed in, Katniss Everdeen knew nothing would ever be the same. The Rebellion was lost. Forced back to their own districts, the citizens of Panem settle back into their old lives. Nothing has changed, except for one thing. The Hunger Games.

After the war, Katniss and Peeta return to District 12 to rebuild a life shaped by quiet moments and second chances. With a loyal dog, a mischievous baby goat, and the beginnings of something like peace, they learn how to live - not just survive. As their home slowly turns into a kind of accidental zoo, they discover joy in the ordinary: warm bread, soft mornings, and the slow, steady rhythm of growing up together.

Hunger Games Post Mockingjay Based on Kat Dahlia's 'I Think I'm in Love Again' (First Fanfic. Prim and Finnick survived the rebellion because why not and Coin still gets assassinated) (Complete unless another chapter is wanted)

Katniss returns to 12 after assassinating President Coin. When Peeta returns, they reconnect. This story is my take on what happens between the last chapter of Mockingjay and the Epilogue. The first part is what I'm considering the prologue. It contains portions of text from Mockingjay in it. I've changed some things to fit my storyline better. The second part will be Chapter 1 and it will begin with Peeta and Katniss's life after Peeta returns to twelve. Guaranteeing their toasting and babies. My days are filled with me lying in bed and thrashing through nightmares. The days are dark and dull. I barely leave the house. Greasy Sae forces me to eat. She keeps me running. She cooks and cleans then leaves. I comply to eating then lie down once more. I have no one anymore. There's no point in taking care of myself anymore. I am no Mockingjay.

Set at 5 years after their first games. Katniss and Peeta went back to the Capitol to do an interview. The team were talking about something private but little that they know their microphones are on. Read what happens next. Katniss has returned to District 12, with only the comfort of Buttercup. Until Peeta returns that is. They navigate the water, trying to build a solid foundation for the future. They hit some brick walls, but they continue to persevere.
