Post-mockingjay Stories

My eyes open to a world painted with pastels as the sun begins to set. Peeta grins at the subtlety and simplicity of my happiness, a joy that comes not from doing something, but from a state of being. A joy that comes from just being here in the tranquility of a timeless meadow. He gets to his feet and extends his hand to me. "May I please have this dance?" I smile, lacing my fingers with his, "Only because you said please." We dance, not to any audible melody, but to the music of our breathing, our hearts that thrum in tandem. ➳➳➳ Those months trapped in the Capitol prison weigh heavily on Katniss, the waves of grief drown her. But slowly, she learns to be happy again. The loss never leaves, but with Peeta at her side, it lessens until eventually, the two are content. ➳➳➳ A bonus epilogue containing little snippets of Katniss and Peeta's life as they learn to be happy again.

My days are filled with me lying in bed and thrashing through nightmares. The days are dark and dull. I barely leave the house. Greasy Sae forces me to eat. She keeps me running. She cooks and cleans then leaves. I comply to eating then lie down once more. I have no one anymore. There's no point in taking care of myself anymore. I am no Mockingjay.

Post mockingjay. Peeta and Katniss have been through a lot. The games and the rebellion may have changed them but what About their love? Can the beauty forgive the beast and can the beast forgive himself? Will the StarCrossedLovers mend each other ? Is their love real or not real?

When Katniss Everdeen returns home from the Capitol after the rebellion she finds that coping and grieving is very difficult, and with nobody to help her she is in danger wasting away alone. When Peeta returns home Katniss realizes that for both herself and Peeta she needs to work on recovering and look towards the future rather than the past. As they help each other mourn their losses and recover lost memories, they find that what they needed all along was each other. As the weeks, months, and eventually years go on they find that what they really need is each other. All characters and concepts related to the Hunger Games Trilogy belong to Suzanne Collins.

My take on what happened between the primroses and the 'real or not real' at the end of the Mockingjay book. All characters belong to the talented Susan Collins.

AU. Katniss returns to District Twelve after serving her time for killing the president. Gale and Katniss's mother are still gone. Prim is still dead. Peeta was killed by the lizard mutts instead of Finnick. Annie is also dead. What'll happen when Haymitch and Katniss get a surprise visit from Finnick?

It wasn't soon after the death of the mockkingjay that Uyrilia Snow led a rebellion that killed all living descendants of previous rebellion leaders. She took over power with little resistance. It wasn't many more years until the old system was established, and the hunger games reinstated. After twenty four years of the new games it has reestablished itself

my interpretation of how Katniss and Peeta grew back together, and helping each other battle through their darkest times of grief and pain, but also learning how to love each other again.
