Post-mockingjay Stories

I'm not good at long-term side projects, so here it is: a little oneshot about grief and reflection, our girl on fire standing in the Meadow and her walk back home. Absolutely no plot whatsoever, but plots are overrated anyways. Literally takes a minute to read, very short, and about five lines of dialogue. So...are you coming to the tree...?

My take on what happened between the primroses and the 'real or not real' at the end of the Mockingjay book. All characters belong to the talented Susan Collins.

The Hunger Games never ended. Five years after the rebellion failed, the Capitol still rules-and the Games continue. Callie Jones, a sixteen-year-old from the Seam of District 12, is reaped alongside Michael Cameron, thrown into an arena built to erase hope. With Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark forced to mentor once more, the past collides with the present in a game meant to remind Panem who's in control. This year, survival isn't enough. Because some stories aren't allowed to end.

"So, you're staying here? For how long?" I ask Johanna. "Of course I am!" she says, "I'll stay for as long as you let me stay." Months after the end of the war, Katniss receives the unexpected visit of Johanna Mason. Together, they will try do help each other heal while they deal with their own feelings. Katniss and Peeta have survived 2 Hunger Games, a rebellion, and had many loved ones lost. Their relationship will be tested more than ever. Will they stand strong for each other?

All the characters belong to Suzanne Collins. This is just my interpretation of Peeta and Katniss's story after Mockingjay. Pre and Post Epilogue included. Multiple POV's. Some of the ideas and themes are based around my role play account on Twitter. Oh and PLEASE review! Thanks for reading!!

Just a little moment between Peeta-Bread and Katniss. Oneshot, if you want anymore feel free to comment! Always up for recommendations. Set in the meadow, post mockingjay. About 20-24 years old so no kids/marriage.

As the bombs rained down on District 2 and the Peacekeepers rushed in, Katniss Everdeen knew nothing would ever be the same. The Rebellion was lost. Forced back to their own districts, the citizens of Panem settle back into their old lives. Nothing has changed, except for one thing. The Hunger Games.

Post-Mockingjay, follows Katniss's life after she returns back to District 12 after the war, follows Peeta in his difficult journey to also get back to Katniss, and even pulls in some Gale here and there. But while Katniss and Peeta seem to finally be safe and free they are unceremoniously shoved into the fierce life of battle.

After the war, Katniss and Peeta return to District 12 to rebuild a life shaped by quiet moments and second chances. With a loyal dog, a mischievous baby goat, and the beginnings of something like peace, they learn how to live - not just survive. As their home slowly turns into a kind of accidental zoo, they discover joy in the ordinary: warm bread, soft mornings, and the slow, steady rhythm of growing up together.

A simple homework assignment becomes so much more when Katniss and Peeta get involved.

Katniss returns to 12 after assassinating President Coin. When Peeta returns, they reconnect. This story is my take on what happens between the last chapter of Mockingjay and the Epilogue. The first part is what I'm considering the prologue. It contains portions of text from Mockingjay in it. I've changed some things to fit my storyline better. The second part will be Chapter 1 and it will begin with Peeta and Katniss's life after Peeta returns to twelve. Guaranteeing their toasting and babies.
