Post-modern Stories

The year is 2008(AD), and the world is in the throes of another 70s revival. Nobody knew how or why it all began. That is the least of humanity's problems, however. Reality itself seems to be breaking down, to the dismay of scientists, corporate titans and the ruling elites/reptilian demigods that have lorded it over the existing structure for countless eons. Secret agent Cassius Croon is hired to investigate a series of particularly bizarre events transpiring around the globe. They suspect he is the One. Actually, he is the None.

There is an unspoken rule in the literature: "A book must respect its reader." Well, if this is so, then before you lies the most disgusting and the most incorrect work of fiction that has ever seen the light of day. After all, this book not only disrespects the reader, but also the characters, and even its own writer. Enter a world where every fantasy is reality, and every reality is fantasy. Enter a world where there is no line between "real" and "fictional". Enter a world where characters don't want to be characters. Enter the endless variety of universes and layers of Narrative. Enter the storyverse. Enter the Library of Babylon. I'll be waiting for you there, [Reader].

Joel Wyatt is a lowly call center representative who works for the "big, evil empire". No, really... the maniacal CEO of Vaig Communications has battled against some of the greatest costumed crusaders the world has ever known. Not that that has anything to do with Joel; he's just trying to keep the peace with his girlfriend, Gwen, make time for bowling with his buddy, Spliff, and afford the ever-rising rent prices in Denver, Colorado. But strange things are afoot in the 303 area code, and suddenly, Joel is finding himself face to face with the sort of heroes, villains, and giant, radioactive monsters that he used to only read about on his news feed. If he's not careful, Joel might just move from being a spectator to an active participant in a series of events that could change the course of history itself... and maybe even his own life.

In the near future, when corruption and poverty have taken over, police and government officials no longer take care of the people, but rather, those wealthy residents that can afford the protection. Because of this, families are left to protect themselves, turning their own communities into the armed forces they need to put an end to all of the violence that's quickly sweeping through each, and every, household. Will the law-abiding citizens prevail? Or will the law-breaking officials have their way in the court of life? This series of poetry are found on my yet to publish book called Death's Partner. The book is a dive on Generation Z's perspective on Metamodernism and the series of poetry visualizes the subjectivity of emotions and oscillation of the day to day life.

In the smog-filled streets of a dystopian Paris years in the future, a rigid hard boiled detective must hunt down the serial killer tormenting government ministers. The weird thing is, the killer takes their victims with an unusual object; a paintbrush. They also always leave a sunflower strewn on the body. Can this detective track down the killer before they strike again? Will they uncover the truth before it's too late? This is a short story with only one part :)

In a dystopian society that has romanticized illnesses and medicine, Allevia is approached with the idea of saving her chronically ill father at the risk of slowly killing others.

A spoken word poem on the futility of mankind in the key of pessimistic existentialism.

A misguidedly idealistic high school student founds a club to teach his classmates philosophy; when it becomes a cult, he must change course before the whole school drinks the Kool-Aid. Frank can think of no better way to prove his classmates have no moral compass than to write a manifesto satirically arguing for the virtues of selfishness; when this attempt at shining a light on his classmates' behavior is taken at face value, he creates a club to spread his teachings, hoping his ironies will be more obvious on a grander scale. The authoritarian rule of law he establishes meets little resistance from his club members, even as he wonders privately when they'll have enough and choose a more virtuous path. While Frank earnestly seeks to help his classmates, his methodology proves misguided in practice, and Frank must find where to draw the line before he permanently ruins his beloved high school. But then again, being a cult leader is too much fun to pass up... You Must Remember This adapts the foundation of Catch-22 in a high school setting, applying the same notion of dystopian bureaucracy to lampoon Silicon Valley's competitive spirit and, in these politically charged times, comment on the fragility of our own democracy.
