Post-revolution Stories

Phoebe has been encumbered with a task: finding a husband. Of course, it was a rather common expectation for a young woman of the early 1800s. However, Phoebe's husband-to-be had additional requirements. First, the man should be willing to give his name to a woman who decorated her conversations with stutters. Secondly, the husband-to-be would have to sacrifice his previous pursuits and instead continue her father's plantation. Thirdly, the said-husband must be of liberal-mind and use the plantation as a ruse to free slaves. Surprisingly, this task may not be as herculean to a visiting English-man.

Caroline Rhode is a slightly rebellious 17 year old young woman living in the late 18th century. When her parents inform her they've arranged her marriage, Caroline is faced with a decision. To stay and marry a man she does not love, or risk the dangers of running away? Timothy Grey is a 19 year old young man who recently started his own business. Orphaned at a young age, he works diligently to survive. He longs to meet his true love, but this woman seems nonexistent. Both Caroline and Timothy's lives intertwine when Caroline stops in Timothy's town for supplies. She meets Timothy while buying bread. Something about Timothy urges Caroline to trust him. She pours out her story to him, and Timothy decides to help her on her journey after discovering part of her story involves a personal link with....an old adversary.
