Her life was supposed to be stable. Not perfect. Not exciting. Just... stable. A job. A mortgage. A routine barely held together with coffee and denial. But in a world where supernatural beings-known as the Legends walk openly among humans, stability is never guaranteed for long. When Charlotte loses her job without warning, everything she worked so hard to build begins to crack. Bills don't wait. Time doesn't slow down. And the world she thought she understood is quietly shifting beneath her feet. The Legends control the best jobs, the best lives, and the kind of power humans can't compete with anymore. Everyone knows it. Everyone accepts it. Charlotte just tries to survive it. Until something starts to change. In a world ruled by fate-bound beings who recognize their mates by instinct alone, Charlotte has always believed she was safely outside that story. Too ordinary. Too human. Too overlooked. But fate has never cared about what she believes. And once the Legends start paying attention... nothing in her life will ever be simple again. Because some bonds are not chosen. They are claimed.

And as a plus, the New Order's friendship has never been closer. But when a war is lost, not everyone wants to accept defeat, especially not the disease that'd almost doomed humanity. The world did not end in an instant. It ended slowly-quietly-like something dying while still pretending to live. Serein Valdez learned to survive in that silence. Not because she was strong, but because she paid attention to things other people ignored. She learned how to move through ruined cities, how to avoid danger before it showed itself, and how to stay invisible long enough to live another day. She never planned to get involved with anyone. Especially not him. Leviandro Solenne is the kind of man who survives without asking permission from the world. Former military. Controlled. Detached. A man who moves like every decision has already been made long before it happens. When Serein finds him surrounded in the ruins-outnumbered, cornered, seconds away from death-she knows she should walk away. She doesn't. That single moment binds them in a world that punishes mistakes and calls attachment a weakness. He doesn't trust her. She shouldn't have saved him. But in a place where survival is no longer about strength alone, but about choice, instinct, and consequence- leaving each other becomes harder than surviving the world itself. And when the quiet finally ends, what's left behind is not just destruction. But the things they were never supposed to feel.

The pandemic ended. But something else began. At first, it was subtle, strange behavior, quiet shifts, a feeling that the world was no longer entirely human. Then came the violence. The disappearances. The terrifying truth no one was ready to face. They weren't being hunted. They were failing to become. As society collapses under the weight of a transformation it can not understand, Tawa finds himself at the center of it all, caught between what humanity was and what it is becoming. With the help of Max, who believes there must be another way and Tony, who refuses to lose himself to the unknown, they uncover a reality far more unsettling than death. Evolution is no longer a choice. It's a process. And once it begins it doesn't stop. But when a third path emerges, one that could save what it means to be human. Tawa must decide if he will guide humanity into something new or watch it tear itself apart trying to hold onto what it once was?

While Lena is a pragmatist hardened by radiation and betrayal, Ruby believes in the power of heroes. Five years ago, Jason Thomas's parents died in a car crash and left him three things: a house in Michigan, a German Shepherd named Rainbow, and a 1984 Winnebago that has been rusting in the backyard ever since. He has not started the engine in five years. Three weeks ago, he started having dreams. New York choking on vines. A beach in California where the things coming out of the water have legs now. A stairwell at the end of a hallway, and something at the bottom of it that has too many teeth. Last night he punched his girlfriend in his sleep. This morning he watched her walk through airport security without looking back. Tonight, on his thirtieth birthday, the Winnebago wakes up. Tonight, something inside it starts talking. Tomorrow, every dream he had will be on the news, and Gina will be two thousand miles away in a city that is about to die. He is going to have to drive across what is left of America to reach her. He is going to have to do it in a rusted camper that is no longer a rusted camper. And in the quiet part of himself that he doesn't talk about, he already knows: he was losing her before the world started ending. He just didn't know the world was going to end at the same time.

And behind it all waits a final door, knocking from both sides.

Chicago, 2162. Thirty-one years after the Mainframe fell. Thirty-one years after a ten-year-old girl walked out of a trading floor carrying a dead man's device and the weight of something no child should have had to do. The world did not rebuild itself the way the survivors hoped it would. Chicago is still Chicago - broken, violent, alive in the stubborn way that cities survive when they probably shouldn't. The gangs control the sectors. The Hybrids still walk the streets at night, executing an instruction that has no destination. There is no government. There is no order. There is only endurance. Carrie Webb is forty-one years old. She lives alone in a cabin by a lake in Wisconsin, far from the city that made her and broke her and asked too much of her before she was old enough to understand what was being asked. She grows her own food. She filters her own water. She splits her own wood. She has the C.L.A.W. on her wrist - the same device that Eddie Marsh built in a rented apartment in Austin, that Stevie carried for twenty years, that she inherited on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade the day she lost the only person, besides her dead father, who had ever chosen to protect her. For thirty-one years, it has been enough. Until now.

They call it 'Ghastler' - which was originally made for a weapon of war but instead destroyed humans. The leader of a Scorpion shelter ordered troops who were forced to loot the antivirus in Coloval (the scientists who created Ghastler). Feeling that there was something strange about the mission, some Scorpion troops realized that the antivirus was just propaganda to drive them out, killing them slowly because they realized that sooner or later they would become extinct.
