Ten years ago, in Year xx20, a meteor blazed across the skies of Tarnia. Seen across the world, it was hailed as a blessing from the gods. It was not. Four years later, Therror sightings declined as humans became scarce. Small camps began to form in isolated places. Then the meteors returned. This time, instead of ruin, they brought weapons-artifacts that radiated warmth and hope. One brave survivor tested such a weapon against a Therror and split it in half with a single strike. The world changed again. These artifacts became known as Divine Equipment: powerful tools capable of slaying Therror, and dangerous in the wrong hands. More meteors fall every few months, scattering new weapons across the land. Now, ten years after the outbreak, we can destroy the Therror-but we still cannot cure them. Seven million? A hundred Million? A hundred thousand? So, whatever your depopulation conspiracy theory is, there's probably some of it in what happened.
