Young Lanz Rein left his family to go off for war. His people and friends cheered for him and wished him luck, and he thought it is his time to shine and show how he is a man. But war was more than he thought. It wasn't rainbows and unicorns like he thought. It wasn't a piece of cake and it certainly didn't taste like one. It tasted like blood and death. Can he find his way back to his life? Or will everybody be gone by the time he does?

But when Espins curiosity leads her and Mike finding her mother's side of the family it leads the both of them being pulled away from each other by Espins real father Darrens actions. With Espin being gone Mike goes through a state of depression, anger, loneliness and lost. But when something happens to where Espin comes back He makes sure that no one can take his daughter away again.
