A storyteller spontaneously foretells to the villagers of ville d'emeraude day and night, warning the folks to never wander across the barriers that prevented them to reach into the so-called 'cursed forest' wherein the story's tower, exists. However, contrary to Kokichi's beliefs that fairytales are mere fictional fantasies merged from the mind of a human being, felt the urge and need to prove the legend for himself--inspite knowing that mortals like him, who also had the same motive, vanished without a trace, unable to live to confirm the legend themself. past lovers who have experienced heartbreak from a seperation that both of them wished to have avoided yet settled with, to think that they were done with each other's businesses and furthermore step up the stairs and move forward with life. is how kokichi ouma views the agonistic occurance that once happened from 5 years back into the past. yet instead of moving forward in a lawful way decides to go on with his living as a thief working under an unveiled organization- from thievery of valuables that can be obtained from small shops, to risky heists that they commit at banks; barely just escaping from the help of their equipment. kokichi is a smart intelligent lad, despite the foreseen childish demeanor he gives out holds a sharp brain that stands beside his past lovers. he once had wanted to walk along the same road of being a great detective with shuichi, oh how love truly creates such unexpected happenings. yet it must be bitterly accepted that both lads had parted ways and there was no bridge to walk upon to reach the other persons side, both of them had been aware of that. but what happens if after 5 years fate decides to reconnect them once again? the time when the both of them had almost forgotten about each other, is the time they were to be reminded of themselves once again. what happens when kokichi suddenly receives an unexpected job offer from his boss? a job offer that would be both difficult yet worthit to accomplish- another thievery one that involved working as the secretary of a certain detective in an exchange for a huge sum of money.
