A mans suffering. This is a poem my Grandmother wrote in march 2012. She was once in the Army. She is a very proud Veteran.

Sage Jacobs was plain and boring. Sure, she was in a band (Marching band). And she was on a few teams (the Mathletes and the Science Olympiads). She was smart, and stayed hidden. Until one day, she becomes a blimp on Caleb Harrison's radar. Which really isn't a good thing. Now, she has to keep her head down and pray she doesn't run into him and he doesn't mock her. But maybe a run in at a music shop isn't too bad. Maybe it's the start of a new life for Sage. And for Caleb.

If it does have trigger warnings, I'm sorry I didn't know that I put them in there. I started this as a short story, but I decided to make it into a book. I put descriptions that would have been told at the beginning of the book into it so it makes more sense to you guys. A POW returns home after 18 years. Micro fiction originaly written as a Language Arts assignment. Inspired by "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens.

Its 1942. In Stalag Luft I. A German POW camp. 19 year old Jesse receives just one letter every week from Grace, his childhood sweetheart who he has not seen in 2 years. More phased from the devastation of ill-fated romance than the frightening realisation of war, Jesse choses to risk his life and his men rather than to risk losing her. An action romance, with factual references is told through the eyes of the man that's willing to risk everything but Grace. This is a short original extract of my college coursework. It's currently being graded towards part of my A-level Creative Writing course and I'm intrigued to peoples opinions of it so please leave as much feedback as possible. Thank you.
