The Cowardly Lion and the Hungry Tiger, bored with their guard duty in the Emerald City, decide to leave the palace and show how fearsome they truly are - the Lion imagines frightening people, and the Tiger talks about eating a "fat baby." As they wander the empty streets, they instead find a lost crying child. Rather than harming anyone, they gently help the child and its worried mother: the Lion carries the mother home, and the Tiger returns the baby safely. In the end, they realize they are not cruel beasts and return to the palace wiser about who they really are.
