He told the academy professors what happened with Scarlet's situation, so they allowed them both to take some time away from their studies so Scarlet could mourn, then come back when she is ready to continue with her studies.

Basically they met each other during the cybertronian version of the "Divergent" Aptitude test. Wheeljack obviously got the wreckers(Dauntless) result. Amanda naturally got the medics(Abnegation) but also got the wreckers(Dauntless) and scientist(Erudite). When she chooses at the choosing ceremony she had chosen the wreckers(Dauntless). She and two of her sisters chose the wreckers(Dauntless), but finds out about a slight issue with Wheeljack and his Sire have had going on for quite some time. Will she be able to solve the conflict between the two or will she regret trying to help?
