This story started as a school exercise in my English class, where I was supposed to prepare a tv commercial to refute the disinformation, concerning Covid - 19, spread by the far - right groups. But I decided to keep it a bit more general, so that this story is not just about a bunch of untenable conspiracy theories but also about prejudice and racism in general. In "A great white day", we follow a young reporter on his journey through the South. His job is to interview the people, and ask them about their opinions concerning the current crisis, what they would have done to prevent it from happening, and who they think is to blame for the pandemic. But, as it turns out, in some corners, fake news and dubious theories have already spread. And in times like these, talk is cheap.
