"The nearer the dawn the darker the night"- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Caleb Dume is preparing for the trials that will make him a Jedi Knight when he meets Hera Syndulla, one of the youngest-ever cadets to the Republic's peacekeeping Starfighter Corps. (No, this is NOT another "what if Order 66 never happened?" fic. It's actually more of a "What if Queen Amidala never called for a vote of No Confidence in Chancellor Valorum?" fic. While we can be certain that Palpatine would have continued with his- as I like to call it- sheevery, failing to manipulate the young Queen would have been a blow and a major setback to his nefarious machinations. Please see the end notes if you'd like to read more blathering by me on this topic). Status as of 5/16/20: in progress and currently being written.

In the shadowed outskirts of the galaxy, on a world abandoned by hope, Jac Dassan, a former podracing legend turned scarred hermit, spends his days repairing broken machines and nursing old wounds. Haunted by a catastrophic race that stole everything he held dear, Jac has drifted into a life of solitude in the decaying Galma District on Batuu. When the Shadow Maw Syndicate emerges from the criminal underworld with plans to corrupt Batuu through a high-stakes podrace, a desperate Republic operative seeks out the fallen champion. Despite his reluctance to return to the world that broke him, Jac finds himself drawn back into the arena by an unlikely alliance with Olima, a young Dug whose fierce determination mirrors his own lost spirit. Their battlefield: the legendary Maura's Rift-Ghost Ocean, a track that carves through reality itself, where the line between skill and survival blurs like storm-swept stars. Can Jac outmaneuver the Shadow Maw's lethal weapons, protect the innocent, and find peace in the embrace of the Force he no longer believes in? Or will the ghosts of his past finally pull him under?

What if the Chosen One wasn't who the Jedi expected? Kaden Palpatine shouldn't exist. Born from the dark machinations of the Sith Lord Sheev Palpatine and raised as a slave on Tatooine, he should have been darkness incarnate-the perfect Sith apprentice his father designed. But the Force had other plans. Adopted by the compassionate Shmi Skywalker and gifted with power that eclipses even the greatest Jedi Masters, fifteen-year-old Kaden has become a legend on Tatooine. They call him the Desert Angel, the boy whose violet-blue eyes shimmer with the light of a thousand suns, whose very presence brings hope to the hopeless. But Kaden harbors secrets that could shake the galaxy: A silver-white lightsaber hidden beneath the floorboards Training from an ancient Jedi ghost that no one knows about Visions of a beautiful queen who will change his destiny And a biological father who will stop at nothing to corrupt him to the dark side When Qui-Gon Jinn arrives on Tatooine searching for parts and finds two vergences in the Force-young Anakin Skywalker AND the impossibly powerful Kaden-the galaxy's fate shifts forever. As the Naboo Crisis unfolds, Kaden meets Padmé Amidala, the girl from his visions, and discovers that some bonds transcend prophecy itself. Their love will be tested by war, politics, and the machinations of the galaxy's greatest evil-Kaden's own father. With Clone Wars looming and Palpatine's shadow growing darker, Kaden must prove that he is not defined by his bloodline. He must show the galaxy that even from the deepest darkness, the brightest light can emerge.
