But even though her beauty is her greatest attribute, it is also her burden. Lana, for so many years has been working as a beauty pageant, and has been wanting so badly to get out. Only knowing that her only worth and use in this world is her beauty, she doesn't know what else to do but to attempt suicide.

Katherine, a typical semi popular 16 year old high school student is struggling with a image problem. She was always taught one way that you were suppose to look as a girl, pretty, done up, and no flaws. Although she always layered on makeup and fell into the same beauty routine, she never felt pretty. When she try's to change up her look because of her sudden boost in confidence, her "friends" have some harsh input. Along the way she meets people that help, a boy, and a few fellow classmates that actually get her. Will she listen to them, or will she fall back into her state of mind?

This poem is about how society portrays "Beauty" and how the media media and even some celebrates have high standards when it comes to having a certain look or size how perfection is the way to live, how the only way you will be accepted in society is by achieving these standards . I personally think that is all bull that everyone is beautiful/handsome in their own way! I struggle sometimes with this I am caution with my weight and have low self-esteem however i am learning how to love myself and not care what people have to say or what they think! P.s This poem is also inspired/a tribute to the Beyonce song "Pretty Hurts" Just know that you are amazing just the way you are and do not let anyone tell you otherwise!
