Octavia and Shawn were best friends. The death of Octavia's father changed things. Instead of being the carefree-vibrant girl the once was, Octavia became a shell of her former self. She was lost and pushed everyone away. Suddenly her struggles with mental health grew and she felt like a catastrophe waiting to happen. Her best friend, Shawn tried his best to be there for her even while she was trying to push him away. Then, things got complicated. Now, the two are barely speaking. They're awkward. They've come a long way from the inseparable friends they once were. The appearance of A in Millwood changes things. Suddenly Shawn is back in Octavia's life and she's befriended his new girlfriend. Noa Olivar and Vivienne Evans are not friends. They hate each other. In fact, they've had a rivalry for years. Rivalries have to end, though.
