Evanna Cutter has always lived on the edge of impossible.
When she was eight years old, her mother stepped through an Anomaly (a shimmering fracture in space and time) and never returned. Since then, it's been just her and her father, Nick Cutter: brilliant evolutionary biologist, government consultant, and professional chaser of prehistoric nightmares.
Dinosaurs roaming modern London?
Government cover-ups?
Time ripping open without warning?
That was her version of normal. Or at least, it was survivable.
Until the day everything changed.
On what should have been a routine mission, Nick Cutter steps through an Anomaly - and comes back altered. Not physically. Not visibly. But fundamentally.
He looks at Evanna... and sees a stranger.
In the timeline he remembers, she was never born.
To the ARC, it's a temporal divergence event.
To the government, it's classified.
To Evanna, it's devastating.
Overnight, she becomes a ghost in her own life, forced to stand beside the man who raised her while he addresses her with polite distance. "Miss Cutter." Not Evie. Not daughter.
But something bigger is happening.
Anomalies are growing unstable. Creatures are slipping through that shouldn't exist anywhere near the present. The boundaries between past, present, and future feel thinner; fragile, like cracked glass under pressure.
And Evanna can't shake the feeling that her erasure isn't an accident.
Living under constant surveillance inside a government facility, surrounded by secrets and shifting loyalties, she must navigate a world where trust is rare, and reality itself is unreliable. If time can rewrite her out of existence once, what's stopping it from doing it again?
But Evanna Cutter isn't a mistake. She's not a glitch. And if the universe thinks it can erase her without consequence, it clearly doesn't know who it's dealing with.
Because sometimes the most dangerous anomaly... Is the one fighting to exist.
