Hi, My name is Rajiv, I live in Bangalore, India. I am learning to read and write Japanese Hiragana syllabary. So as a part of exercise I'm phonetically translating this story called "The Moon Princess" - かぐやひめ (Kaguyahime). About the Story: The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (竹取物語 Taketori Monogatari) is a 10th-century Japanese monogatari (fictional prose narrative) containing folkloric elements. It is considered the oldest extant Japanese prose narrative although the oldest manuscript dates to 1592. The tale is also known as The Tale of Princess Kaguya (かぐや姫の物語 Kaguya-hime no Monogatari), after its protagonist. It primarily details the life of a mysterious girl called Kaguya-hime, who was discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant.

based on the anime movie involving a beautiful young girl who found in a bamboo shot adopted by a old bamboo cutter and his wife following the journey of her growing from a baby to a beautiful young woman as fate threw everything in her way.
