She was expected to be by Zuko's side all of her life so when Zuko was banished she went with him. Her honor depended on him, and although their relationship wasn't ideal in the beginning friendship blossoms along a long journey.

Zuko finds Azula hurt by Ursa because she was going to the turtle duck pond to feed them, she ran out of bread so use started tossing rocks in to watch them sink. Ursa thought she was aiming for the ducks and yelled at her, not letting her explain herself, in a rage she slaps Azula for denying it and throws her into her room. His face wasn't angry anymore. It was more of a curiosity rather than anger. "I was abandoned by my parents in the south pole when I was just a baby, but the chief of the southern water tribe took me in and raised me. But ever since my fire bending arrived, I've been the one person everyone is afraid of." His face became puzzled when I mentioned the last part. "You firebenders have a bad reputation, you do know that, right?" He ignores my comment and starts walking closer to me until he is inches away from my face. My cheeks flushed due to how close our faces were as I stared into his amber eyes. Even with that huge scar on his face, he was still an attractive boy. Ugh what are you thinking Kai! Get it together! He's the enemy! He reaches around my back and cuts the rope, setting my hands free and then backs away again. I stand up looking at him with confusion. He simply just reaches out his hand. "I'm Zuko." I looked down at his hand and hesitated. After a few seconds, I took his hand and shook it. "Kai."
