When a citizen turns twenty-two their life changes and a sense of individuality is lost as one is merged with another, the other being their designated soul mate, the one they must live out the rest of their life in compliance to government regulations.

Joisaint is a kindhearted Lawyer whose sense of justice is rivaled only by that of his wife's, Kenyeta. Together, they stand against those who wish to tear down their community. That is, until Mr. Mason, the sitting Mayor decided to burn down their city's only soup Kitchen. Fueled by rage, Joisaint decided to fight fire with fire. He began campaigning for Mayor. With his wife at his back, Joisaint pressed forward only to learn the horrible secrets that laid beneath the surface of his beloved city.

How does it feel to see a new born neglected because it was a girl?

I found this story that hasn't been updated in years so I am going to continue it but the work in the first eleven chapters do not belong to me.

For years, Lynsa has always wanted to save up enough credits to purchase a baby license, and thereby start a family with her husband Dahl. However, Dahl has been terrible with his money, choosing to spend a large chunk of their joint income on tech and other 'useless gadgets'. The final straw came when Dahl returned home from work one day with a new piece of machinery, a self-healing prototype vehicle which he refers to as an 'organic skycar'. Dahl believes that this new skycar will save the couple thousands of credits each year, but Lynsa is not convinced. She is starting to believe that Dahl will never change his ways, and for the first time in her life, is seriously contemplating divorce. Lynsa decides to take the organic skycar to the mall to visit her girlfriends for a Synthcoffee and a serious conversation about the state of her marriage. However, the Skycar has other ideas...

The state has made non-procreational sex with women an illegal abuse of women. The use of contraception is also illegal. Sex change centres have been set up for suitable males so that they may become partners for other males.
