The Zaire Wars are over. The homeland has fallen to its own creation, and the survivors now live under Russian rule. But there remain pockets of resistance in every city, units of guerrilla fighters who fight under the umbrella name "Eagle". Unit 15 was based out of Atlanta. When the Russians came, their commander took the name of an Italian political genius and holed up in abandoned warehouses, never staying in one place too long. His right hand, Laura Smith, fled from her family when they swallowed the propaganda too easily. When she raised her voice in protest, they beat her into silence. Jack O'Conner was an officer in the Army, but it's been so long, he's almost forgotten what rank. He knows it doesn't matter. He wandered for a while, doing what he could when he could, but he kept no ties to anyone or anywhere. Rachel Gaines designed the virus that went into the S-bombs, the virus that destroyed the world. She's carried that guilt for a long time now. Now, the new government--the New Order--has all in custody. Eagle unit 15 is dead, but for its commander and his second. The resistance in the South has been crushed. The Russians want the truth, but nothing matters except what they put in the history books. Eagle 15 is a different brand of war story. It follows the soldiers after surrender has been accepted. It follows the destruction of truth and the fabrication of history.

This rousing adventure mystery of the American West has Sage Adair out of his element among cowboys, sheepherders, Gypsies, and Indians. In the hot summer of 1903, a range war is imminent. Sage knows nothing about cowboys and horses, sheep and shepherds, yet he soon becomes the target of sheepshooters and bushwackers. This story is crafted around the historical decisions made by timber barons and the politicians--decisions that nearly ripped apart Central Oregon. Book Four in the nine-book series.
