But what he didn't agree to was helping her avoid being kidnapped by an evil group of Deviates that have targeted her for reasons unknown. Now Stevie and Dark must uncover the biggest mystery of their lives while avoiding Deviates with potent fire abilities. With the progression of human society and the emergence of an ever-growing number of metahumans, there is unrest building in the vampire world; the struggle to remain hidden and striking from the shadows when they need to feed is becoming an increasing hassle, which they do not fancy. The two factions of the vampire society see different prospects as solutions. The Drucules, who already loathe the human race, wish to launch a preemptive strike on the human race in an effort to reduce its population. The Alucadians, more tolerant of humans, wish to emerge from the shadows with knowledge that could steer humanity into a lulling peace that would allow vampires alternatives to violence to obtain sustenance. Despite this, there is infighting within the vampire society that would see a civil war come about, infighting that seems to be fueled by a saboteur if anyone would care to observe events for more than two seconds. In the middle are Shade & Plasmasonic; their relationship could be on the line if the mystery behind this chaos is not uncovered. *Shade & Plasmasonic are illustrated by MarloMora. Trouble has just arisen in the quiet and seemingly tranquil town of Echo Haven. The town hermit, who's been under surveillance for a long time, Elowen, has slipped away in the dead of night, heading toward the Eroghiy Jungle to meet Neosa, a Naga witch who's promised to help her with a dilemma that involves the town. Velas, a friend of To̅mi's, has been ordered by the Echo Haven chief to retrieve Elowen but keeps her in the dark about why. Velas, realizing she may need a companion, asks To̅mi to tag along and is slightly apprehensive when To̅mi brings Gabriella along because she's a normal human. Determined to prove herself to not only Velas but also To̅mi, Gabriella resolves to be resourceful during the adventure. To̅mi has also been having strange dreams that she can't determine the validity of. An older elf promises that they will meet each other again very soon, but she can't remember who it is. However, Plasmasonic's sense of justice won't let her ignore Spade's involvement in what has happened.
