Stevie Jones is lucky to be a survivor, though she would have died if it weren't for a Deviate blended with shadows swooping in and saving her. But she's just trying to stay on the road her parents paved for her. Now that she landed a scholarship and is attending her dream class, it seems that her future is bright. However, her attitude changes when she suddenly wakes up as a Deviate with no warning, no reason. Desperate for answers, she'll seek out the man who saved her life before being a Deviate ruins her reputation. Even if he's not quite the nicest hero around. Derek Harvard, or "Dark," is a Deviate. And he hates it. Every day is a further struggle to keep his power and anger under control. Good thing getting his adrenaline fix and beating up the corrupt Deviates is just the stress relief he needs. When Stevie inserts herself into his lifestyle, he thinks this is going to be hell... but something about Stevie quells the fire teeming inside him, and it may be the only reason he's agreed to help her out. Working together, these two unlikely friends explore the underbelly of the world of Deviates, encountering jaw-dropping truths, an attractive ninja, and powerful fire-wielding foes hired to target them. Multiple supervillains have been seemingly compelled or hired by some unknown force to cause trouble in the city of Detroit. There's also a new girl in the fashion world who has a bone to pick with Vixen. When you're the daughter of a vampire and an elf, adventure is non-negotiable. It's certain that regarding the preponderance of locations To̅mi Andrei visits, the fraternizing will be short-lived. However, you only need one interaction to make an impression, and the consequences that follow are inevitable. Sentiments, circumstances, and affairs are dredged by time but are not lost to them. This is one of those events. To̅mi made a choice that is coming back to haunt her, a friend who attempted to follow in her footsteps now faces the ultimate peril. People only seem to remember the deeds of a villain. They forget how they are made into that monster. They forget how twisted and ugly it is. How their dissension into villainy was just as horrifying to see as what they did. Seeing their monster's create them into one just like them. Watching who they once were vanish and become evil, feeding this cycle, is so much worse. We all have a choice between good and bad but it's a whole new ball game when powers are involved.

After the loss of their sole protector and his sidekick, the people of Dynamo Bay are convinced that the age of heroes has come to a close. However, when a mysterious sickness causes people to develop superpowers. New heroes rise up to challenge the villains who reign over Dynamo Bay.

With the progression of human society and the emergence of an ever-growing number of metahumans, there is unrest building in the vampire world; the struggle to remain hidden and striking from the shadows when they need to feed is becoming an increasing hassle, which they do not fancy. The two factions of the vampire society see different prospects as solutions. The Drucules, who already loathe the human race, wish to launch a preemptive strike on the human race in an effort to reduce its population. The Alucadians, more tolerant of humans, wish to emerge from the shadows with knowledge that could steer humanity into a lulling peace that would allow vampires alternatives to violence to obtain sustenance. Despite this, there is infighting within the vampire society that would see a civil war come about, infighting that seems to be fueled by a saboteur if anyone would care to observe events for more than two seconds. In the middle are Shade & Plasmasonic; their relationship could be on the line if the mystery behind this chaos is not uncovered. *Shade & Plasmasonic are illustrated by MarloMora.
