HardToLove-
"Man, I miss when being the chosen one just meant the threat of being blown up by an evil wizard."
Astral Smith - a stoic autistic teenager - just existed. It wasn't so good in that little corner of england sometimes, but she saw no reason to complain. That is until some weirdos burn down her house and drag her through a rip in the universe into a pretty little magical kingdom. That's an experience to begin with, but she soon discovers that the king wakes up to daily assassinations, the country council really doesn't want to be here and bizzare things go on in the name of religion. Anyway, she's apparently the final hero in a team picked by a disowned family of prophets who have an obsession with fashion design. Whichever one of them came up with that idea should really be disowned themselves, because who'd seriously put a snotty wannabe princess, the doctor's overworked son, a cherubic girl who could make the world drop dead with the click of her fingers, and the world's most cowardly lord of darkness and cold under Astral's rule? That's what she would ask the ancestors - hero-worshipped supreme creators of the universe - if it weren't for the fact that the lead ancestor vanished into midair on a random Tuesday and the sparkly bird taking their place is not your average magical mentor. In fact, he really should be fired. Armed with the misguided support of a faithless kingdom, an incomprehensible and disastrous magical quest, really-quite-nice-when-you-get-used-to-them new family and friends and a double life, Stellarvoice focuses on themes of making the best of new chapters, standing up for what's right even if nobody else seems to know or care what that means, and love of all kinds - from family, to friends, to romance, lead by a defiant chosen one who is much more than a prophet's words..
