There is no doubt she was angered. They despised her family - father especially - for no apparent logical reason, as they also did what he did, and even cast her to rule over the dead. Everyone would've anticipated that she'd be overjoyed hearing that they're dead, but a disclosure to what really happened shocked her. Her technical neighbor was the demise of the universe, an arsonist who also happened to murder a large amount of people at the same time. By that, it means he wiped out the living world with an exception of two humans and a few female Aesir. She is determined to avenge the living realms of Yggdrasil after the death of her father and the rest of the Tree of Life in the hands of the fire which engulfed everything before it resurfaces as a lush, new world. But she can't do it herself - she'd need the fallen heroes of battle, and she'll embed the memories for one sole purpose: to ensure not just the death, but the annihilation of Surtr.

What started as a class project for my English Honors class has blossomed into a full on book series: Modern Mythos. Book One is The Poetic Edda, a modernized version of the stories found in an ancient Scandinavian manuscript. Join King Odin of the Aesir, his blood brother the Fire Jotunn Loki, favorite sons Thor and Balder, adopted children Frey and Freyja, wife Frigg, and many more as they traverse the nine realms, waiting for the end of it all.
