But when Merlin is found--alive--and brings news that Morgana did not die and is plotting her revenge, everything changes. Knife. Table. Throat. Instantly alert, adrenaline flooding through him, Arthur's body automatically moved in time with his thoughts, his hand fisting around the handle of the knife before his mind registered that the intruder was talking. "Arthur, stop- it's me, it's Percival-" Arthur's mind registered the voice and he dropped the knife, thankfully before he reached phase three. He bolted upright as Percival's hands fell off his shoulders, leaving him only able to guess where his knight was in the dark. "Percival- what're you doing here?" He flung off the covers and swung his feet over the edge, the panicked adrenaline slowly ebbing from his veins, leaving him with only a clear head. He reached for the scarlet shirt on the bedside table. Percival wouldn't have woken him unless it was important. "We weren't sure what else to do, Sire, it's Merlin." Important, indeed. Or, the five times Arthur and his knights try to help Merlin and the one time Merlin realizes he deserves help too.

Merlin is still technically a citizen of Essitir, and the new regents decide it's time he served his own kingdom instead of Camelot. The Knights know of Merlin's magic, so does King Arthur. They all try to find a way to free Merlin without causing a war. Mostly the POV of Arthur and the Knights to show their worry and concern over Merlin's well-being. I ship Merwaine, but a nice touch of Merwaincelot added in.

While on a camping trip, Merlin was obviously exhausted as he'd been acting strange all day. As he falls asleep, Gwaine finds a small leather bound journal hidden away in the servants coat, which he soon learns is a journal. He reads a few to himself, then to the Knights. They all soon realize how sad and how seemingly alone Merlin believes he is. They all realize, just how little they know about Merlin. [Hint: The Knights and Arthur learn about Freya!]

What if merlin never had his mother or father? He was left orphaned from the age of 6. Let's just say not many people like orphans, especially bastards. However despite his troubles he is a loving, gentle and kind soul who felt a connection with all living things. when he moves to camalot things are going to change with a possessive prince, a motherly kings ward and a grandfatherly physician. ------------------------------------------------------- This is my first Merthur story. Morgana will be good and her and her beautiful servant Gwen are very close. Arthur is kind of cruel to those who aren't Merlin. Sorry, not sorry
