Blood is mandatory. Compliance is survival. Hope is broadcasted like propaganda. Kai has spent his life keeping his head down, his sister hidden, and his fists ready. But when the lottery calls his number and offers him a future he never asked for, Kai is forced to choose between the life he built in the shadows, and a system that's already decided what he's worth. The revolution is coming, but he never signed up for his. Kai only wanted to keep his sister safe. So why is he now suddenly able to control fire?

Trigger warnings - there are heavy themes of ICE, violence and discrimination. During one of my seminars at uni I was asked to write a poem about something that makes me angry, and I chose everything that's going on in the world right now (politically). Not only does it make me feel but I hope it personally affects me too. It's a very long, strong and powerfully emotional poem that should tug at any humane person's heart. Every time I read it in my head or allowed I need to take multiple breaths, stutter and often feel the need or do cry. Because this is genuinely how I feel. So if you care about what is going on in the world, especially in the US and UK please give my poem a read I really appreciate it.

Huey and Riley Freeman are back in a low-key, stylised reboot of the original show, on your wattpad! It's been a year or so since Robert Freeman died. The boys' only legal guardian has left them behind in a white dominated district. But Huey and Riley got those strings, and they pull them. They find themselves in an apartment in a nice view right on the edge of Woodcrest, a mix between "boujee" and "ghetto". They take care of themselves, as well as they can. After all, Huey is almost 15 years old now, and Riley is 13. However, one day, they are sent a notice threatening an investigation and fine unless they don't attend school after summer vacation. So they attend the school, and damn -- that place needs some Riley and Huey Freeman. Whether it be... Riley's "menacing" influence, or Huey's "cynical" one. Please enjoy my story, a social commentary with a similar satrical twist, based around the original series. Only, it has more of a youthful, modern yet authentic flair to it. They learn from their mistakes, and damn right make sure to fix the ones around them.

In a near future world, where critics of the authoritarian leader are imprisoned and media has become a state sponsored tool for repression, one punk rock band goes on the road to start a revolution with their music. But the members of The Futile are fighting more than just the upcoming (and likely rigged) re-election of J. R. Rankin-the man who decides what art, music, books and news can be consumed by the public. When one of their own secretly brings The Futile to the attention of state media and causes them to be a target for Rankin himself, the band-and some of their family members-find themselves on the run. They won't be silent. They will stick with their very public and very dangerous plan to take down Rankin-even if they might not make it out of this final act of rebellion and revolution alive. Written with plenty of humor and heart, The Futile is ultimately a book about how people have the power to change themselves-and their world-even in the darkest of times.

"It's hard to forgive yourself when twenty-twenty hindsight is like your disease." This isn't the same world it used to be. Now that humans have once again casted out the second-worlders, unrest grows like a cancer. A cancer I helped create. I wasn't pleased to see Mikey again, but there's something different about her this time. She's calmer, tamer... and I would never admit it, but I've grown used to her being at my side. But with the weight of the future on our shoulders and even bigger targets on our backs, we'll need more than each other for protection. Now there's fire in my veins as emerald eyes stare back at me. She says she'll take me to see my parents if I do her a favor. Little did we know, that favor would uncover a blight worse than anything we've faced before. And I don't know if we can make it out alive this time. + + + WATTPAD EDITION COVER Releases 10/2/23. Preorder it on Amazon. This is the unedited version, before I rewrote it. Crimson, a faerie with seemingly no Auroran-like ability, is curious as to why her mother forbids her to enter the clearing - she suspects that her mother knows more of it than she lets on. The Auroran Empire is falling apart - with Crimson is stuck in the middle, not knowing who to side with. Would she be able to discover the truth about her own identity and uncover the secrets of the clearing before the Empire falls apart? Would she be able to prevent the destruction of the Empire that it had brought upon itself?

Summary: Dylan's life has always been a routine with very little deviation; it's tried and truly perfect. The perfect routine for the perfect town. The kids he went to kindergarten with are the exact same kids he'll graduate with next year. Nothing ever changes, until Emma moves in across the street. She is different from all of the other girls, with bright pink hair, total confidence and the tendency to speak up for herself, even when she should just stay quiet. Everyone shuns her, calling her names, pushing her in the hall. Everyone except Dylan. After being trapped in detention with Emma, he begins to learn more and more about her. He finds himself leaving the crowd more, something unusual for him. Can Emma help him to stand out for once, even when he's spent his entire life just blending in? Excerpt: We don't say anything else about it, and everyone continues as though the last few minutes never happened. Nothing like that happens in Oakland, at least it never gets seen, and it always gets ignored. You only see the perfect parts. How we all get really great grades because our school system is one of the best in the country. No one commits suicide, no one gets busted for doing drugs. Those things never get recognized, always hidden from the public eye. In the public's view everyone always looks the same, acts the same, thinks the same. Always.
