Welcome to Axis Psychiatric Hospital. This is where some of the most unique cases of patients are kept. They range from the slightly odd to the very dangerous. Many exciting things happen inside a psychiatric hospital, especially one as special as this. Just stay away from Level 4, where the truly insane are kept, and where one patient decides to wander. ** So this story uses characters from Hetalia -see disclaimer inside- but you don't have to be familiar with it at all. The thought of a psychiatric hospital in Delhi NCR, for most, reminds them of luxuriant air-conditioned facilities and getaway resorts, while some others are reminded of a shady asylum where residing patients are ill-treated. However, it is not like any of the stories you may have heard of and definitely unlike the movies you may have seen which stereotype psychiatric hospitals. Patients who undergo residential treatment in psychiatric hospitals experience incredibly positive and extremely negative experiences while residing there. This, however, depends on the circumstances of the individual and the type of residential treatment he/she is undergoing at the psychiatric hospital. Before one is sent to a psychiatric hospital, it's imperative for him/her to get a hang of the kind of atmosphere and treatment he/she will be subject to inside the psychiatric hospital. Audio-visual and print media like television, newspapers, internet and movies don't tell the whole story and one should know what to really expect. The concerned patient or one of his/her family members/guardians can visit the hospital before admission of the patient into the psychiatric hospital. What leads to admission into a Psychiatric Hospital? Persons who are advised residential treatment in psychiatric hospitals usually have been struggling with a multitude of mental health conditions such as dementia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc. Such patients require long term & full time assistance due to decreased functioning because of psychiatric disorders and hence need residential care 24 x 7. However, there should be no stigma associated with hospitalization into a psychiatric hospital. Getting hospitalized into one may be one of the most constructive decisions the affected person makes in a lifetime.

This is a personal story about my younger brother, Sammy, and the journey our family has been through with mental illness. He was always full of life, funny, and kind, and losing that side of him was heartbreaking. I'm sharing this story to honor him, to show that mental illness doesn't erase the love, the memories, or the person underneath it all. since the age of 15 I've been prescribed medications for my Mental Health issues soon to become psychological diagnosis. from panic attacks to depression to agoraphobia and suicidal ideation. I quickly found relief in these pills of denial and temporary escape. soon I was on a pill for every uncomfortable ailment in which I faced. Antipsychotics for mania, benzodiazepines for panic, antidepressants for depression, stimulants for fatiuqe, sedatives for insomnia, blood pressure meds for the jitters, methadone for addiction and now I'm oblivious to true knowledge of who and what I am. I'm a moment away from discomfort and a bottle away from ignorant relief.
