There's a lot of stigma and negative energy connotations with hospitalizations and the psych center. I have personally been there 3 times and been hospitalized a lot more then that . I'm going to share my experiences both being hospitalized, and being admitted into a psych center to clear up stigma and give an inside look at a psychiatric ward and how things are run on the ward.

Contrary to popular belief, Benjamin Brooks isn't crazy. He simply sees dead people. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop him from being admitted to a psychiatric unit to treat his so-called schizophrenia. But the clinic isn't what it seems - and neither are the other patients, behaving in ways that no diagnosis can explain. Now Benjamin is stuck with: - a kid who can't keep one identity straight, - a sugar-fueled meltdown waiting to happen, and - a walking hazard warning. Together, they set out to uncover the truth. It's unfair to say Heath's life has gone to shit, because it's pretty much been shit since the day he was born. His abusive father left when he was young, and his mother and brother have never 'forgiven' him (because, of course, they say it's his fault). With no support at home or school, Heath turns to the other outcasts in his neighborhood: stoners, drug dealers, dropouts, burnouts, ravers, goths, and everyone else that doesn't quite fit in with their respective groups. But then, one day, after being reported a runaway, Heath is arrested. He suffers a mental break at the thought of going home, but, luckily, he's a young white boy, so rather than locking him up, the cops bring in a trained psychiatrist to evaluate him, and she realizes: Heath isn't an asshole kid, he's acting out because he's suffering. He clearly has PTSD and potentially the sprouts of antisocial personality disorder, and there are lots of other maybes that need to be checked out. So Heath is taken away from his family and put in a residential treatment center. And even though the kids here are weird and different from the ones he usually hangs out with, maybe he can finally make a connection with someone, for the first time in his life. cw: smoking, drug experimentation, hiv mention, violence, verbal and physical abuse of a child (13 year old), animal cruelty (maybe??? he yells at and pushes a cat), mention of sexual assault, psychiatric hospital/residential treatment center, psychiatric meds, panic attacks, ptsd, flashbacks, cursing, implied anorexia, mentions of suicide attempts

Leeftijd 16+ Chapter 1: 💗 Lilly was a girl with powers who had experienced some traumatic things which caused her to have problems with her mental health. She suffered from anxiety, depression, ptsd, selfharm, suicidal thoughts. What was also very strange was that when the experiences happened it had a influence on her powers. Than she had a best friend who also had powers and she learned her a lot about how to use her powers but than they found out Lilly was a different type of witch so they had to leave each other. Than her mental health got worse. After a while her mom started to notice her arms, they sent her a therapist. First she didn't say much she didn't want they're stupid help. but than she talked with him because she thought she was going crazy , and he thought that she thought she was a witch because of her trauma's so he wanted to put her in a psych ward. And her mom agreed so then she was on a waiting list for a psych ward. When she was there they were first very strange and she didn't really like them. After a while she found out it was a ward full of witches who had to learn how to control their powers. The ware was meant to help people but the ward gave her: more trauma, stress, anxiety, and were kind of abusive sometimes. In the ward she had some weird and confusing experiences but what is there to find out, is it really all how it seems? Or not?
