BY LAW, ALL SCHOOLS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A STUDENT PUBLICATION. In the quiet coastal town of Daluyon resided a private, integrated school they called The Fishers' Academy Inc., known for producing the best students in town, with some garnering achievements in lands far away from home. No school is perfect, but mistakes are perceived as threats to the academe's squeaky-clean image, which has remained intact for decades. To put themselves out there, in 2020, the school decided to launch The Ocean Currents, also known as Oceans - the school's new, official student publication - for compliance with the law, to hoard more awards, and to... be their Public Relations mouthpiece, something that wasn't part of what the law provides. Daria Malanum, a fresh elementary graduate, was thrust into auditioning at Oceans because of her sheer skills and wit in campus journalism. What she unfolded at The Fishers' Academy wasn't what it seems like.

All they have to do is get through this year. Pass their finals. Then they're free to do whatever they want. However, on their second day they soon realize that perhaps this year will not be as smooth sailing as they thought. There is something up with their biology teacher. Something that just doesn't sit quite right with them. Something.

The darkest time in Emil's life had just passed, the summer holidays. He spent six weeks in his room, in therapy and in a virtual world, hoping that his father might knock on his door again one morning at least until something new gave him hope, Kaspar, the Spanish exchange student with a little too much patience for the boy he'd now spend a whole year with. When Emil found out that his mother had accepted an exchange student, he knew he had to change something, but this was particularly difficult after the summer holidays. However, as he got used to Kaspar, what had seemed so long - suddenly became very short. Over those months, Emil found something in Kaspar that he thought he had lost many years before he met him. !Cautionary reminder: This piece of fiction includes a lot of sensitive topics that could be upsetting or disturbing to some readers. The diary of Gina, muddling her way through teenage life while tackling the global climate crisis that parents, teachers and so forth have been failing to protect them all from (honestly, she has to do everything around here). Dealing with eyebrows, bras and boys is tricky at the best of times; add the eco crisis, and you reach tipping point. So when Gina hears about the school climate strikes, she's desperate to join - she knows striking will lead to expulsion; but not striking may well lead to a nervous breakdown.
