Lauren and Kieran are a team. They take care of each other. When Lauren works herself to exhaustion, Kieran has to nurse her back to health. He's really getting sick of dragging her back to his apartment.

He never expected this, a few drinks with his sergeant and he was already compromising his position and their relationship. He should've said no, he should've kept their relationship professional, he should never have listened to Kym Ladell. Instead, William Hawkes listened to the instinct tightening in his gut.

Since the series is on a long hiatus right now that does not have a confirmed end date, I decided to take matters in my own hands to cope with this content drought. I'm rewriting some of my favorite chapters/character dynamics into what I would think a novel version of the webtoon would look like. This is just for fun and creative expression, so don't come at me if there are some inaccuracies. Writing this made me further appreciate the creators' work because they capture the characters' complex feelings so well in their actions and expressions in just a few panels! If you've never heard of this webtoon before, here's the blurb that the creators wrote: "Her ability to detect lies has made her an outstanding officer of the law - despite being haunted by her inability to save the ones she loved from a gruesome fate many years ago. Now, she uses her powerful gift to defend the defenseless at any cost - even if it means teaming up with a deadly assassin to fight evil in a world gone mad." I do not own any of the plot elements or characters in the story (or the cover image). They all belong to @deadsophism and @ephemerys_ph, the original (and genius) creators of the webtoon "Purple Hyacinth".

Kieran and Lauren acomplish a big deal! However, when they go out to drink, the women gets too much and ends drunk. The story develops from here, in a one shot with no alterations in the original storyline.
