A not so short essay I wrote about the positives of secularism, and living a purposeful life without God. This is in no way to bash or tarnish religions or religious people, just some points I believe on the possibility of good from being a secular person, and maybe some advice to people who are secular, and looking for purpose in their life.

First, there's Sapphire. She's the most perfect girl with everything a guy could dream for in a girl; perfect hair, perfect body, top grades, and the perfect personality. Then there's Elliot. He's a shy kind of guy. The softie and the (almost) teachers pet. You could say he's the school nerd, but he isn't all that smart or super obsessed with comics like the classic 'nerd' stereotype. He just looks like one. Nobody knows this, but he truly has a wonderful personality; calm, compassionate, caring, loving, the personality of a perfect boyfriend, in fact. But unfortunately, you couldn't tell from his outer appearence. And to make matters worse, nobody ever wanted to befriend him, so nobody ever gave him a chance... As cliché as it sounds, Elliot has been in love with Sapphire ever since he set eyes on her, and has loved her more and more every day. But she's already dating one of the most popular guys in school, and he knows that he'll never be able to make her happy. Until one day, after taking an incredible risk, he gets the opportunity to make Sapphire truly happy... But at what cost?.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wasn't sure whether to tag this as a Short Story or Teen Fiction. So let it be known that it's both.
