500 years ago, a powerful diviner foresaw the coming of a pyromancer unlike any other. They would have either the greatest powers of any witch in their time, or none at all. It was predicted they would arrive in this year, and all of the witch covens want that witch. Kiera is normal. Always has been, planned on staying that way. That all changes when her dormant powers awaken at Starbucks and she is faced with a whole new dimension to her previously complicated world. Soon, she is fought over by three covens, finding unlikely alliances and quickly making enemies. As tensions grow, a war threatens to break out among the witch covens.

But her worries of Peter are put aside when she meets one of his companions. After rekindling the first flame, Edgar's body and soul was used as kindling, being burnt into nothingness. This is where the story should have ended, where Edgar ceased to be. That is until he receives an invitation from the Guild, a league of hidden Mancers that live to overthrow the Order and brings true peace to the lands.
