Oliver doesn't know how to dream. He stopped being able to do that a long time ago. Back when role models died and he became a person who worked for the devil. What he's always been good at is lighting things on fire and watching them burn down, literally. Except that was before. Before probation, before the loss of his dad and one of his best friends, before he promised himself he would change into something better. But loss is persistent and confronting who you became is more isolating than he had expected. Now, with detectives looking for answers, his best friend back in his life, and a love triangle he definitely shouldn't be in, things could catch fire again any second. Part of the It Doesn't Even Matter Series but can be read as a standalone.

They say fire is dangerous. Nessa Queens thought it was fascinating. She is what you would call a "Pyromaniac." Peter Shaw is a human flamethrower. Don't play with fire they said. You'll get burned they said. But fire is hypnotic and all it takes is a strike of a match.

"They loved you! They raised you and worked their asses off for you, and you don't even come to their goddamn funeral! How can you be like this? Probably too wrapped up being a whore for that asshole you call a boyfriend! Fucking slu-" Then the screaming stopped immediantly and Luxe took a deep breath as she put her phone facedown on the table. She tangled her fingers into her hair, closing her eyes. After a moment, she opened them again. No lights were on in the house, and dishes were piled up in the sink. The curtains were torn and glass was shattered across the counters. That "asshole she called a boyfriend" wasn't there anymore.
