And although the young girl was an exceptional fighter, trained and hardened into being the best of her age, never once did she believe her skills would have to be put to the test, but to protect both her home and loved ones, Näa'ri would need more than just her strength to fight this battle. When Toruk Makto and his family, along with a couple more tag-alongs, arrive seeking an unexpected alliance, they bring with them a warning that will shatter the Saksunina's peace.​​ The sky people's greed knows no bounds; when one sacred entity wasn't enough, they moved on to the next. Now their sights are set on the very foundation of the Saksunina people, along with their connection to Eywa and their home. With the threat of war looming over Näa'ri's once peaceful life, things are starting to rapidly change. Now isolation isn't an option. Alliances beyond that of the snowy tundra are needed, and although Näa'ri knows she must play nice with a certain future Olo'eyktan, drowning the boy is sounding a whole lot more pleasant.
