Turns out most people can't get ahold of Cardans letters to Jude. Some weren't even aware Holly Black actually wrote them. These letters ripped my heart out and I want to share that joy with you all. This fanfiction takes place in a period between the "Wicked King" and "Queen of Nothing" books by Holly Black (And so it should be known that all of the characters are hers). While we know what Jude was doing when spending her time in exile, no one really knows what Cardan, the person responsible for it, was doing. This story is my personal take on what could've transpired, including when he wrote letters to Jude, told from Cardan's very own point of view. Jude has been kidnapped by Queen Orlagh. As a result, Cardan is forced to truly be king for the first time. Without his Seneschal he finds himself lost, angered -and even scared. Scared of losing her. *The title alludes to one of Cardan's letters to Jude in the third book. Enjoy!!
