9 friends seated around a crackling fire. One of them has a question. What secrets will be uncovered? ~~~~ A short story I wrote for some picture prompt school assignment. It was supposed to only be 1k words, but it ended up at 1,482. Oops. This may end up being a sort of prologue to another story idea that I had, which is what inspired it. The world it's set in is one I've done a ton of building for and will probably be featured in future stories. Some of the species in this world are heavily inspired by D&D so yeah, but 3 are of my own creation. Their roles are pretty much just D&D roles, but that's mostly because I couldn't really think of how else to describe them.
