He had no idea, all he knew was that he wanted a closer look. A glimpse into said universe. Maverick gulped and swiftly licked his dry lips which caught the other's attention, consuming him fully. A remastered version of The Promised Land, a short story I wrote a few years ago. There is, ultimately, no lesson or theme to this story. I myself haven't figured out the ultimate interpretation. We all know the classic story of a girl who lost her glass slipper running away from her dreams, and racing back to her sad reality of being a peasant maid for her own step-mother and step-sisters, the only family she has left. Yes, this is a story based on none other than the character of Cinderella. However...this rendition of telling the tale is quite different. This quick-read is all written in the form of haikus; a form of poetry that is written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. In this story, you learn about the lives these characters really lived behind the scenes of the happily ever after that we all know to be. You'll discover rich amounts of character development from minor characters and learn major mic-drops about the major characters. If only I could sleep. Days are bad when you can't sleep. Days are worse when you can't remember. Days are the worst when you can't forget what you've done, and you can't forget who you've done it to. For a long time, night was the only peace I had, and the only time I really felt alive. I did things when nobody was watching, when nobody could see me. Darkness hides a lot of things. But it won't hide what I did -not forever. Someday, everybody will know. Some already do. Do you know? Do you know when somebody watches you? Do you know when somebody is following you and sleeping on the floor next to your bed? I can tell you. I can tell you secrets.

Cheeky rom-com Short Story (20min read). PG14 rating. A fun slice of la-vie-en-rose, illustrating the difficulties of reading the opposite sex. Contains implicit scenes of sexuality;-) One name has been changed to protect the innocent; the rest of us are guilty. Spoiler alert! Beginning (foreplay); Middle (consummation); End (post-coital blues)... figuratively speaking, that is.

I'm not a big fan of knowing about a story before hand so read it to find out what it's about or don't it's cool. I am honestly unsure about this entire story. I didn't exactly have much in mind I was kinda just writing. Uh, I think I did a decent job at telling a story about someone with a disturbed past who has a robot companion. Out of everything I want to translate to the reader, I think just leaving them hanging with unexplained things is the best because the story is long in the sense of overthought lore for this world. I think leaving the story with questions kinda is the best thing for this story. It was a good learning experience, I have another story in mind that's a little more based on reality and has actual planning for it. Well anyway, this story is a representation of my ability to create so I hope it's a good read. P.S. I was a little high.
