In this novel, I try to lead the reader into an engaging account of a life lived, with an abundance and precision of episodes and experiences etched in my memory. Mine is a journey into a bucolic landscape and environment, which have marked me throughout my life. It is the experience and fortune of those who, like me, found themselves living through the period of transition from the life of the fields, made by toil and sweat of the hands, to mechanization and modernization. To make this journey backwards in my biography fascinating, there is then a succession of affections, of loved ones, of figures all peculiar in character and attitudes. The novel is, so to speak, a story within a story. Characters: za F'lumena, the grandmother with the strong character, the volcano always ready to explode, my father, Aunt Paola, Aunt Lina, Uncle Ferdinando, Uncle Armando, the barber-accordionist, the forester, the baker, the hairdresser, the old vintner (who at first presents himself as illiterate, but...), the traffic cop, the massaro (farmer) Luigi, who teaches me how to ride a horse, and his wife Carmela, an excellent cook, and Cerasella, grandmother's donkey. With Foxes Hill, I offer the reader a chance to open the treasure chest of life's memory, and to relive it. Childhood memories remain indelible in everyone's memory, and it applies to everyone. In this autobiographical account, through an exposition that is as simple and straightforward as ever from the point of view of expression, I recount my real experiences as a boy of just seven years old, who, alone and aboard regular buses (as many as three, for barely a hundred kilometers), in the hot summer of 1955

Un racconto ambientato a Roma

This is a totally conceived story: and it wants to highlight what can happen to each of us, when you have relations with perjurers. Who, like some characters, takes an oath on the coffin of a loved one, pledges his conscience and his honor; and in doing so, he promises to fulfill the obligations assumed, and to maintain behaviors of solidarity between brothers, linked to memory, until the end. The protagonist will behave like this; but they will not, three of the brothers who swore with him; they had no faith..., and over time they ruined his existence. At the beginning of the story, the protagonist, Francesco Studiante, and his brothers, are young people, and nothing else. First with one and then with the other two, together, Francesco will have to deal with for many years; the ravenous selfishness, however, aroused by the enormous amount of money earned through lucky ventures, made the three forget how much they made him hope. With daring behaviors, the three, in turn, and throughout the story, carry out evil and fraudulent actions: setting up false pretexts and non-existent motivations, but with extraordinary effectiveness, on the soul of a good man like Francesco. Towards an honest man, the wicked always begin by deceiving him with false promises, and showing him the utmost consideration, but they already have in mind, properly concocted, a diabolical plan: aimed at deceiving his good faith. And they succeed. Loyal people never receive any credit in life, but they can look in the mirror without spitting in their faces. The three, did they pretend to swear? To Francesco..., the doubt remains. Will time give him the right answers?

È un piccolo racconto che ho scritto molto tempo fa, quando ancora l'albicocco era gravido ed io giocavo ad esser dannato. È l'inizio di un'aspettativa che non potevo soddisfare, genera il declino prevedibile e morboso, è l'utero fecondo di un cancro. È solo la scrittura di quando ancora ci provavo. Prima che il gelo impetuoso mi penetrasse nelle ossa e le mie parole mi lacerassero le carni. Non è un granché , risale ad anni fa. Risale all'inizio del liceo. Siate clementi.

Nina, bella sirena dalla luminosa coda lilla, ha lunghi fluenti capelli dorati e gli occhi del colore dell'acquamarina. Abita insieme alla sua famiglia a Melodia, un villaggio in fondo al mare in cui si celebra la Musica. È la più piccola di sette magiche Sorelle Sirene: ognuna di loro ha una dote speciale legata alla musica. Tuttavia l'unica nota stonata sia all'interno della sua famiglia che del villaggio è la Nina, la sirena che non sa cantare. Un giorno, stanca di questa situazione, decide di esplorare il mare. Incontra così il Vecchio Lamantino, uno dei Saggi del mare, che le offre un antico e potente dono, la Perla Magica. Quest'ultima le svela un segreto che cambierà il suo destino. Tanto tempo prima una perfida e invidiosa creatura, la Sirena Nera, scagliò una maledizione contro l'ultima nata nella famiglia canterina. Solo quando la voce sarebbe nata sincera dal suo Cuore e sarebbe sbocciato in lei il Grande Amore, la maledizione si sarebbe spezzata. Nina intraprende perciò un viaggio alla ricerca della sua voce in cui affronta le sue paure più profonde e acquisisce una maggior conoscenza di sé.

In un'antica biblioteca greca accadono fatti misteriosi... solo il direttore ne è a conoscenza.

"Letizia". Quanta ironia in un solo nome, quale ossimoro il Destino beffardo, genitori bonariamente ottimisti avevano deciso di affibbiarle in sede di battesimo. Accovacciata tra la scrivania e il muro, la schiena curva, lo sguardo fisso su piedi stretti in calzini spaiati, Letizia non poté fare a meno di riportare il pensiero laddove spesso lasciava naufragasse. Al giorno della propria nascita: quel giorno maledetto a termine del quale, in una sorta d'amara condanna, s'era deciso di darle per nome quel che in vita non sarebbe mai stata.

I ricordi fanno parte del nostro bagaglio di vita: ciò che siamo, ciò che saremo dipende da ciò che siamo stati, da ciò che abbiamo vissuto. In questa raccolta di racconti di vita vissuta c'è una parte dell'essenza dell'essere dell'autore.
