There are two kinds of people in the world: Sanctified, who uphold morals and traditions, and the Damned, who are condemned for their special abilities. Melanie is a Sanctified-born girl with a loving parents and gentle community, however, when their tradition reveals her true power, Melanie loses everything and gets exiled to the outskirts, where sanity ceases and beastly instincts prevail. Aoife Olette is an orphan, raised in the belly of the city's cathedral and ever in the shadow of the Maker. With her head lost in fairy tales and stories of the past, she knows little about the world, but all that changes when the young orphan is framed for the murder of the inhabitants of the cathedral. Forced to abandon the only home she has ever known, she is joined by her only friends, as the two of them seek to prove her innocence. Joined by a man on the run with a past he won't speak of, and the spoiled son of the Lord of the Sands, the four of them will be tied together in more ways than they realise, as they endeavour to discover the truth behind the plot they find themselves embroiled in.

This is my rant after watching the game conferences of EA, Bethesda, and Sony (and being sorely disappointed). This isn't just about the conferences or video games, it's more about the main characters 95% of video games have (especially nowadays).
