Dear Claire, The first time I laid my eyes upon you, I forgot how to breathe. Your hair shimmered like firelight, your eyes colder than the frost that follows it. You looked at me-no, through me-as though I were dirt beneath your perfect shoes. I told myself I didn't care, that your hatred for commoners was just noble arrogance, but gods, Claire... my heart betrayed me. Even when your flames nearly touched me, I couldn't move.
