Diluc often left things too late. What if he realized Kaeya was always his brother during the fight but realized too late and killed Kaeya only to wake up from a dream. After having an eye opening experience Diluc tries to mend his relationship before its too late but not finding Kaeya where he should be makes him worry that it is too late Diluc has a dream of actually killing Kaeya on that night and now is determined to make amends before its too late.

Four years after his departure from Mondstadt, Diluc Ragnvindr returns. He is not the same as he was when he was young, nor when he left. Jean and Kaeya must deal with his return and not allow their emotions to get the best of them. title + chapter names inspired/taken from A Burning Hill by Mitski. it's my first time writing any of these guys so be nice lol

Diluc could lie to everyone, to the whole wide world, but no matter how much he wished he could, he could never lie to his heart. Because it wasn't just a stupid bracelet, now was it? It did't mean anything- it meant everything. It was the sole item that kept him close to his brother. It was the thing that connected them. It was their friendship bracelet and it showed the world how strong their bond was. He may have disowned Kaeya but deep down he was always his brother, his inability to remove the bracelet proved that. TLDR: Kaeya made Diluc a friendship bracelet when they were kids and noticed Diluc still wearing it one night, after everything they've been through, leading to a reconciliation. A friendship bracelet saves the day.
