In 793 A.D Ragnar Lothbrok and his son Bjorn have a discussion on the origin of Nordic runes and languages as a whole. This is a short story I wrote as an English assignment during my Junior year in High School, I have a distinctive Scandinavian ancestry so the assignment was fun to do, I hope you enjoy the story. I implemented some aspects of Norse mythology into it, such as Odin and Baldr, and the myth of the man that was Ragnar Lodbrok, but some aspects I did make up; such as the story revolving of how the languages were made.

The gods work in funny ways, magical ways perhaps. Sometimes impossible things can happen which is exactly what happened to Gwenllian. As if she was needed in a time that was not her own the gods brought her back to the 700's and placed her down right outside Kattegat to forge her a new destiny.

Solveig arrives in Kattegat as a captive, but soon comes in close contact with the king of the Vikings as well as his sons, above all Ivar. In the ancient lands of the northern gods she uncovers divine wisdom, old feuds and new love.

Torhild Blood Wolf is one of the greatest shield maidens Kattegat, England and the rest of the North has ever seen. However, there is no surprise there, being the first born daughter of Ragnar Lothbrok and being raised by Lagertha, the shield maiden. Saxons will learn that women don't only stay at home and tend their husbands. (My first Vikings fanfiction, I hope you like it. I only own Torhild and a few other original characters and the modifications I made to the series plot line.
