Inazuma is the third major nation in Genshin Impact, an archipelago southeast of Liyue inspired by feudal Japan. It is ruled by the Raiden Shogun, the Electro Archon and God of Eternity. When the Traveler arrives, Inazuma is under a state of isolation (Sakoku Decree) and a hunt for magical "Visions" (Vision Hunt Decree). The Raiden Shogun, seeking "unchanging eternity" after losing her sister and friends 500 years ago, began stripping citizens of their Visions. This led to a civil war between the Shogunate Army and the Sangonomiya Resistance. The Fatui (led locally by La Signora and Scaramouche) manipulated the Inazuma government from within to fuel the war and distribute life-draining "Delusions".
