Drake Ashmore's life gets flipped upside down when he intervenes in a back alley assault in his hometown. The criminal in question turns out to be a mythical vampire, and turns Drake into one of their kind. He blacks out from the encounter, and when he wakes he finds himself in a strange place surrounded by people he's never met. He learns he's been whisked away to a boarding school where other monsters of lore come to learn how to blend with human society. Drake figures out that there's more to the world than meets the eye, and not all of it is as normal as it seems.
