The entire short story is still there and it's about 2,500 words.* Pete figured it out after Megan whispered in his ear " Petey do you see your parents in your dreams? That's what my mommy and daddy said yesterday", in 1st grade. He ran out the classroom shortly after escaping the school walls, he ran home, it was only a block away. Pete's birthday was tomorrow, of course nobody knew except Jamie and his parents who took that to the grave
