When a conspiracy is unrooted in Araluen, King Duncan turns to Halt, Will, Horace and Leanna, the kingdoms first female Ranger, to set things straight. But what seemed like an ordinary mission soon spirals out of control as the conspirators gain footholds in the south. Rangers are pushed out of their Fiefs, Barons thrown out of their castles, a country divided in turmoil. Can our heros once again save Araluen from this looming threat, or will King Duncans rule come to a violent end?

Hey Guys, This is a new story I am writing because I got bored and wanted to do a Fan-fic. It is a Ranger's Apprentice fan fiction about the a new ranger who has just graduated from their apprenticeship under Will Treaty. It is based in between the 11th and 12th books be cause some things happen in the 12th book I don't particularly like. There may be a few things that don't coincide withe the books but I will try my best to make it all line up as it annoys me to read other fan-fics that don't. However, in this story I am completely ignoring the entire 12th book. So just pretend I wrote it before the 12th came out. Then for some reason she is sucked into a book she just starts to read and she finds new people and friends. She can't tell them she has to hide her secret! Those who don't know me fear me, for I pass like a shadow in the night. Unseen, and unheard until I am right in front of you. I am a ranger, a Dûnedain to be exact. There are not many who know me, or who know my past. Those who do, I seldom see. I never stay in one place for long, nor do I think I will ever belong anywhere. I travel by myself, alone. I can have a short temper at times, and everyone is afraid of me. No one will ever love me, and I will never love anyone. But can a cloaked man, who wanders Middle Earth, change that?
