Due to a fluke accident with a malfunctioning microwave charging Rita's reality warping machine Aaron's comic book began to glow and all of a sudden Tommy was transported to the real world. Tommy was super charged with negative dark energy not allowing him to teleport back, he was also hurt due to the fight with Rita's monsters. Tommy couldn't "comic book heal" because he was now in the real world and needed medical attention. Tommy asked Aaron to stand in for him to help the Rangers defeat Rita so he cold go home, Aaron accept the Dragonzord power and teleports back to help the Rangers face Rita to save all of reality from her machine.
