They travel to Shenzhen, China to solve a conspiracy, but while there they realize they don't even remember seeing any Cybermen on the cybership when they first arrived, and they start to see that reality isn't what it seems, and begin to unravel the sinister plot behind it all. What connects a Cybership, China, and a mysterious jungle and marshland, to Gallifrey and its enigmatic deadly fate? The Doctor, Ace, and Benny find themselves in a far larger conflict than ever before. Will they make it out unharmed?

As the Doctor investigates the black hole, a harrowing discovery leads her to travel to Axilon to request the high council of the (remaining) time lords to help. A displaced planet leads to tensions rising and a threat of another Time War looms. Flavia and the council agree to help the Doctor and the universe, using a time scoop to bring back a few old faces, both her own and her friends, to prevent lasting damage to the timeline. The Doctors and their friends must work quickly against time and old foes, specifically Rasillon and Omega, who threaten the existence of the universe.
