I looked up at the tattered wooden ceiling from the seemingly ancient chair of which I sat in, arms draped around my two little lovelies, petting their soft brown hair. At this, I closed my benign pink eyes, breathed, and sighed. It took a long, long time to get here, but it was all worth it. We were all alive, yet it seemed as though a lingering malady remained.
