Based on the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Ravenloft Setting. It has many names. The soul. The life-spirit. In the deserts of Har'Akir, it is called The Ka. It is the essence that inspires life in all beings and brings joy, sadness, and all other feelings that make life real. Above all, it gives the greatest gift - the ability to die. After his many crimes, the gods stripped away the Ka of the cruel Pharaoh Ankhtepot and cursed him to an eternity of undeath. The pharaoh, unable to sate his hunger, quench his thirst, or feel the light of the sun on his face, filled Har'Akir with his undead armies and forced the people's worship towards him. Every being - living, dead, or undead, was driven into a nonstop search for the pharaoh's Ka. Years, millenia, and ages passed. Ankhtepot's fury waned, but never his arrogance. His search for the Ka proved fruitless and many lost faith in his leadership. Alive, but not living, the pharaoh retreated into isolation as his priests continued the search. He covets one thing, and one thing only - death.

She is ever seeking control, both within herself and with the abilities everyone around her uses so carelessly. After a particularly explosive outburst, Asa and her parents are pushed out to a keep at the fringes of high society, forced to either learn to control her powers or risk her family's status. When fate causes Asa and Ellery's paths to cross, they both will be forced to make choices that will affect the roles of status, magic, and power in Hazlan.

After living a life full of darkness, agony, betrayal, murder, and all the worst sins one can imagine...The Necromancer, and Demonologist Adrian Von Viklov was finally delivered peace and killed by the church of the goddess Ezra, after being redeemed to the worship of the Pure Heart Sect.. And it seemed as if Adrian though having lived a life of evil, and suffering, would have an eternity of rest, and an eternity to redeem himself.. But just as he embraced Ezra in the afterlife, feeling his pain and his curse lifted, all suffering ending- It turned out to be a cruel ploy by the dark force known as "The Mists", an entity that controlled the world he and many others were doomed to live in.. As he Embraced Ezra indeed he felt all pain alleviate but for a moment, before he found himself stumbling through the mists back into the lands of Barovia.. Which he had traversed many times in life.. Adrian now lives as a vrolock (Balok for Vampire) he lived a life of sin, and evil, and now he would live an eternity of the same life, only this time.. His suffering would far outweigh any he could possibly inflict, as he had in life... This story is the tale of Adrian's new accursed life.. Of dark justice.. Of new suffering.. And maybe.. Just maybe.. Redemption?..
