Always making sure to remind her of her daily errands that must be ran throughout the kingdom. Alex, was the elder mans name. He looked after Snow White. He cared for her. He cared for her and watched after her like she was his own daughter. "I think it is time we talked about marriage." Alex had said, him and Snow White both seated at the large dining room table. Snow White winced as soon as she heard the words flow out of his old mouth. "You always wince when we talk about marriage. My dear, why do you do so?" Snow White looked at Alex. She hadn't thought of what to say. She had hoped he wouldn't have noticed. "It is just, I have never even thought about the thought of marrying someone. I know no one here in the kingdom, all besides my childhood friends. I don't wish to marry any of them. Where would I even begin?" Alex smiled at the thought of his little girl getting married. He knew he would have a hard time with the ceremony. But, he was the one who had mentioned it several times to her. "That, my dear, is the easy part. We will throw a few balls every month. Sometimes it can take years before someone proposes to you. It can take only a few months, as well. It all depends on the time." "What if I don't want to propose?" Snow White asked. Because the world is so wrapped up in the raging war, they've completely disregarded a new raging virus that is turning millions into something so devilish and dark, it makes zombies look like baby kittens. In the blink of an eye, the world could be completely devoured if no cure is found. Now, this fated duo is launched into what is quite literally hell on earth. In the small county of Italy, the couple must fight for their lives, and what they believe in. Alone, one injury meant death, the slightest mistake sealing your fate in an instant. Lucky for them, they're never alone... But they're always running.

Authors note: This is a short story I created for a classic short story completion. The goal was to fabricate a short story totaling max : 1200 words and to make it a modern take on a classic fairytale. This is my attempt at it and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
