A decade after the events of Sonic Frontiers and Sonic X Shadow Generations, Earth enters a dark age unlike anything Sonic and his friends have faced before. A ruthless new threat known as Zicoh rises to power, overwhelming entire regions of the planet within hours. His reign spreads rapidly across their planet, crushing resistance forces and forcing heroes into hiding as fear begins to consume the world. At the same time, the legendary events of Sonic RPG, Super Mario Bros. Z, and Nazo Unleashed are all considered part of the universe's past history. This is Sonic XF, an epic continuation of the Sonic timeline where survival becomes harder every day, alliances are tested, and Konton/Modern Sonic must face an enemy powerful enough for him and his friends to stop him for good and bring back the world to peace.
